Beginning in the summer of 2023, I took over an internship role at Cyclone Alert, under the 247Sports network, covering Iowa State athletics and recruiting. My work involved a mix of high school recruiting content, player interviews and inside information, as well as game coverage and features regarding Iowa State football, men's basketball and women's basketball

Iowa State Daily Sports Reporter
My final year at the Iowa State Daily placed me on the sports desk, where I assumed a prime role of weekly sports coverage. I was responsible for covering a variety of men's and women's sports. My regular beats included volleyball and women's basketball, but I have also covered football and men's basketball. My coverage consisted of previews, game coverage and features.
September 2021 - May 2022
Iowa State Daily Diversity Reporter
During my time as a diversity reporter, I covered stories dealing with various diversity issues including race, gender and religion. I was responsible for producing weekly features on various diversity topics, along with event coverage.
Skills
Reporting
In my experience across multiple desks, I have picked up several skills that have developed me into a diligent reporter. I have learned to seek out and develop a relationship with sources, conduct interviews, create different types of stories and write proficiently in AP Style.
The ability to budget time as a reporter is critical to meeting deadlines, and the skill is something that I have focused on greatly. I have practice managing sources to meet weekly deadlines for previews and features, and throughout my coverage of games and matches, I am able to quickly file my stories after postgame interviews.

Throughout my time in college, I have worked to familiarize myself with multiple social media platforms. I have grown a following on Twitter by live-tweeting and linking my stories, and I have learned how to edit and upload videos to YouTube.
